The reason (besides the obvious) that alot of people are against it
is because the whole "no shoelace" thing didn't start with Run DMC,
it started as a prison thing because they weren't allowed laces in their shoes.

Shocked Ahh prison thing? I guess that makes sense, as long as they like everyone draging their shoes lol.
