Hello everyone. I'm new here, registered because I have a question for you experts. I am blown away by your knowledge. I love Adidas and have several pair, but know next to nothing about them. I would like to learn. For example, I've been reading other threads here, and don't know what you mean when you speak of a "nipple" on the back of the shoe. Would love to know, though.

I just got back from Malaysia and Singapore, where the street hawkers sell fake Adidas (and other brands) everywhere. But the fakes there are easy to spot -- really crappy, insultingly bad versions, some with incorrect English printed on them!

So here's my question ... Can someone please post a photo of the inner-tongue tag of an authentic Adidas/Bathing Aper "super ape skate" shoe in camo and python?

Or ... can you tell me if the photo I've linked to below is a fake tag? I have a feeling it is. Because I read that these shoes weren't made in US whole sizes, is this true?

The nipple is the little piece of material that hangs from the back suede part of the shoe. And at least from what I've read and know the Bathing Ape/ Adidas collections were only made in UK whole sizes, so no US whole sizes, which would lead me to believe that these are fakes. But like others said there is a lot of info on these boards, and if you search like Google, there is a guide on geocities all about Bathing Ape/ Adidas shoes. Hope this helps!!

The nipple thing wasnt really an issue with Bathing Apes, the prevalence of the nipple as a way of seeing (with many other things) if they were fake was only noticed and gauged on the 35th's/adicolors and other recent (2005 onwards) fakes.

I have seen, in my hand, a pair of Bathing Apes that are legit with the nipple!

The fact that the size label bears NO resemblance to any adidas size label is a good sign.

The shoe tag attaching the Bape face to the shoe is a good one. ALL bape adidas had a quality black ball chain as the attachment, the crap fakes have a piece of plastic attaching them.

Crooked Tongues have several pairs on their store for sale, £1250-1500 quid, yes CT are overpriced but they have great images.

The pair I'm looking at isn't new, which is a good way for the owner to explain the lack of keychain and extra laces, so no help telling there. I thought the tag looked similar, but I wasn't able to compare 'til now -- you're right, adidasanth, there are major differences.
Also, the fact that no one is bidding is, um, a giveaway. Duh.

I do hope they're fake, because not only did I just tell all of you about them, but I also went ahead and reported them to ebay. Take that, unsuspecting German seller!

Glad you showed me!!!

1. never has that colour been released with the Super Ape Star!!
2. The stitching is WAYYYYYYYYYYY off on the sides.
3. The Font used on the box is not a regular Bathing Ape font despite them using many different fonts for different aspects of Bape. I have several REAL Bape tops and tees all with different fonts!!
4. The cut of the leather is sub quality!

All in all, possibly a poorest example of a fake!

It's a shame, I like the colors. I thought they were pretty hot. But did you see that shipping charge? Outrageous!

It was very difficult to find comparable photos of real ones today. And these forums are pretty deep and unwieldy for a newbie.
