Not feeling the way they re edit everything. Also picked up their instrumentals a few years back, obviously replayed by another lot of musicians, but they weren't even close in terms of mix and production. Shocking.

Seriously you should check out the record burn on Banbarra's Shack Up (SB505). They must have cued those bars up so many times and then taken the same record and used it as a master rather than sourcing a clean recording.
All that said, when you get older you get a little fussier, when you were a kid you weren't gonna get those rare breaks any other way, and the poor quality and edits have a kind of nostalgic charm to them. So just ignore me, I have chest infection and it is making me grumpy.

The beauty of the UBB for me was the artwork and the trainspotter tendancies. Finding out that that break came from some god awful random rock record is/was great. It was also the first and best way to get compilations before compilations came along and superceded it. A one stop shop if you like. Hip Hop & DnB have a lot to thank "Breakbeat" Lou for.

True. I never bought them back then. Because my Dad and Uncle were so into the old soul,funk, disco and electro. I came through with that. But the rock/ alternative stuff is where it is at, digging through stuff you would never normally listen too... like MoonDog! Crazy shit.
