RE: Black Ties. I'm assuming you got them from DAVIDZ for $100...Are they worth it? I can't tell from the pics but is the leather shiny like patent (the description says "pearlized" leather)? I've been thinking about getting them forever hoping the price will drop.

I actually picked them up through US ebay as the davidZ site didnt have my size
only a wee bit cheaper than the site thoThe leather as a tiny bit of a shine to it as you would expect an normal dress shoe to... the stripes are patent and then theres the slight pinstripe effect on the rear. I like them, comfortable shoe and seem well made... my only slight dislike about them is the way the leather is cut on the sole, but that was the designers intention i guess lol
Might be also worth noting that im usually a UK10/10.5 and they are a UK11 but they fit fine, so a bit smaller made
