Appropriate postage costs from UK to Aus -
llcoolgee - 29-08-12
Good morning all
A question for all the UK heads. How much should it realistically cost to send a pair of trainers to Melbourne? I have been qouted 27 quid which sounds like alot. I should add that this is a private transaction as opposed to a commercial one.
Your thoughts por favor,

Not sure but that doesn't sound unreasonable to me . . . costs about £15 to send from UK to parts of Europe.

I just got a pair shipped to New Zealand from Dregz, and he said it was £17.50 for 'normal' air mail, and £22.50 for signed delivery.
I did just pay $AU70 (about £45) to get a pair shipped from Australia to New Zealand
but it was off the bay, and when I'm looking I automatically add the postage into the purchase price, so I browse on totals. The stupid thing is, it's for a 3-5 day service (worldwide) but the guy is only supposedly getting around to posting them today, a week after I paid for them, not within 48hours of payment as promised on the auction

Sounds a little pricey to me, but depends on the method and weight, insured, tracked etc, I sent Nik a pair and it cost £16 standard, no signature/insurance, but have sent a pair of ransom boots to Steve-O which cost £24.

I normally use these guys if i'm sending a parcel abroad as royalmail doesn't offer a fully tracked service worldwide if that's what your needing..
Just enter the dimensions of the package and destination and it'll give you some quotes...Still might cheaper using royal mail though sometimes

Thanks guys. I was considering asking to have them posted to my old dear and have her send them on. It's for a pair of DB Pro Mods, so a bit bulkier, weightier etc..etc..
