Peeling tongue help. - Lurkzilla - 10-06-10

Picked up a pair of deadstock promods from 94, I knew about the tongue as it reflected the price, thought I would just wear them with fat reds but is there anything I can do to bring them to their former glory?

Nice pros! As for the tongue I think there's little to do. Maybe some scotch tape from the inside if you know how I'm thinking?

Lace them with the fattest laces u can find so u can't see them

try and seal it with something before it gets worse, pva glue or something similar? might make them look shinny though

cut the tongue out. replace with a velcro stip and CT changeable tongue.

You could cut out the tongue and put in a velcro strip, but I don't think the mi tongues wouldn't be long enough, but you could make new ones, perhaps like Steve said, a cobbler could make some? Buy some foam or something and perhaps they could knock something up? If you cut the tongue out then they would have a template to work from...
