Why it's impossible to say if it's fake or not -
davyulrich - 02-07-06
I watch ebay for about 6 months for superstars 35th. I bought BadBoy on a real shop in Lausanne (CH), and black etched on ebay (shoemetro.com).
I searched for Andy Warhol and Graphic and bought them 3 days ago on ebay and I'm not sure that they are real brand....
I have seen real fake of Disney (with a green back) :

But for others it's impossible to say and I'm sure that because they all came from the same factory that adidas use to made the real ones. It's maybe factoriy seconds... too.
In others terms I think their is not a lot of real fake (like from china), but their is a lot of "fake" shoes made by the adidas factory in indonesia. For limited edition, the brand must NOT use asian factory in future!
I'dream about Neighborhood now... or Lee Quinones... but they have today no value...

You cann't compare shoes on adidas website with ebay photos, because they were specially conditionned for publicity. You can see a lot of difference between Tsubasa :

Small imperfection on fakes -

I have found a way to find fakes (on some models). Their is a small inperfection on the back of the shoes... All images of real superstars and all mine have not this imprefection.

I've noticed that too, and it does seem to be found on a lot of the fakes going around. This might be an extra thing to look out for!

This is very interesting, and new, to me! And speak of the devil, some asshole just sold me two pairs of Lee's and when the question of authenticity came up he had this to say"
\"i can promise the shoes was come from the factory which produce shoes for adidas, just adidas don't know the factory did it themself.\"

This is a common thing in factories. At the end of the day when everyone has finished their shifts, you sometimes find that another shift will start and they get to work making shoes. Sometimes from the waste material that was used for the adidas orders.
At the end of the day the only thing that is different from these shoes and the adidas shoes is that only the adidas ones go through some sort of quality control. Thats why you have all the imperfections etc.

If I'm paying good money for 1 out of 100, 500 or 4000, I'd like to know I'm getting the real ones. Even if made in the same factory, I couldn't care less... they are not real in my eyes due to the quality controls you talked about as well as the monetary value the shoes now inflict on the rarity of the limited runs.
*Sigh*

add to this that fake are 1/2 size bigger than real... It's just abuse of naive guy and it's breaking the collection... if everybody have the same shoes it's not as funny as it could be
