I feel sorry for you guys getting bolloxed by your ladies.
Mine accepted my "problem" some time ago. I even get her interested in them, buying her a few pairs over the last couple of years. Maybe you try that. If get them some now and again, they may not take any notice of yours! Or you can just say "Fuck it, it's my goddam money!"
