Right, Brad is talking about me. He asked me why I was selling my shoes, I replied because we are in a desperate state of affairs and I have had no income for 6 months, he asked to do a trade for some of his work, the shoes were too tight and at this stage he seemed like a nice guy, I wanted him to have the shoes. I explained that I had no income and didn't know when I would and had no idea when I would be able to send them, this he accepted. I cleaned both pairs and boxed them up. I was desperate to get them sent out, however, we are struggling through severe poverty, me and sarah just eat once a day to make sure the kids and grandkids are looked after, we have learned how to get 4 meals out of a small chicken, poverty creates invention. Now, ani33 was very persistent, messaging me at least once a day, I was incredibly open and honest about my situation and how utterly and completely desperate I was to send them out and stop the incessant pestering. I have put loads more of my shoes up for sale hoping to raise the postage fee, however, when you have to choose between feeding your children or sending someone some shoes, I am sorry to say the kids food came first. ani33 was well aware of this. The final straw for me came when I started to receive threats and death wishes, I chose to ignore these delightful messages over last weekend, I wanted 2 days off from having to read his messages and instead of showing patience, compassion and understanding I received a message hoping I would have a drug overdose, then he started sending vulgar messages to my Sarah. The line was crossed. At this point I decided that this kind of person didn't deserve such a great deal, I considered someone of that nature would be better suited wearing Nike, none of my adidas family would be so heartless. I have sent back his pictures and I consider the matter closed (the pictures I thought would look nice in my boys bedroom), now they would just remind me of a nasty little man I had the unfortunate displeasure of meeting. I am truly sorry things turned out as they did, it was certainly not my intention. It was however a lesson learned. Also, this is nothing to do with the SSDB, this was all conducted on Facebook, this was another threat I received, that he would be naming and shaming me on here, unfortunately for him I have lived my entire life in a perpetual state of shame, so ani33 your toxic shame can't hurt me, I feel really sorry for you, your anger and rage, impatience and lack of compassion must be difficult to live with, maybe you could get some help for that. Your shitty pictures will be back with you shortly, I hope you can find another mug like me to fob them off too. And I would really love to meet you one day to sort this out like adults. Finally, I am really sorry to the SSDB members that this nonsense has been aired on here, I find it quite heartbreaking that someone would air my dirty laundry on here.

My approach is to use something milder and apply a base coat whilst it is still wet, added a bit of fabric medium in too and heat cured it. Then painted on that. But the main thing is to bond to the dissolving top coat i guess.

I have used straight acetone for years and never had this happen before. I think maybe they were just deteriorating due to age and the acetone was the proverbial straw. If I could get the rest off then I might be able to salvage them. Only a large chunk came away from the middle, but not evenly. Will take a look at them again and see it they can be saved. If I can at least get the whole tab down to the base layer, then the problem will be solved.

RE: Things that make your blood boil - Ani-33 - 13-02-14

much of what nick has written there is true, like i said there was a thing or two i'm not proud about writing to nick. The message to his wife came after he blocked me on facebook and consisted only of the words tell nick he's a shit bag...quickly followed by sorry i should not have gone there.

BUT nick really can not get out of the way of his own lies....yes he told me about the money problems but that all came after i sent my art out...and the bit about boxing it right away is bunk....one week ago he boxed it and sent me pics of the shoes in the box saying ya man here they are ready to go, my wife was like wow he put em in a box bet he still doesn't send them. Funny thing about conversations on facebook is you can go back and see old messages Nick, the message you first sent after i sent the art stated the postie had just closed and it would have to wait till monday till you could send it out....did you send it out on monday NO but ya thats when all the woes me came out about money troubles. The next 1000 or so messages back and forth from there contained very little to no conversation about the shoes...some peppering here and there about how its looking with regards to sending them out. Then two weeks ago you started saying you were ready ship only to come up with a different reason each day as to why you hadn't. The fury of messages at the end there were only meant to get a rise out of you because you weren't answering any of them...the first of which was a simple...how'd it go yesterday?

Like I said I am truly sorry for how things turned out. Anyone who knows me, here or on Facebook would know, without doubt or hesitation that I would never set out to rip someone off, and I am sorry that my mental health issues and the poverty trap I find myself in both impacted on you.
The way you behaved however I found to be incredibly spiteful, to threaten to expose my personal life to anyone, let alone my family here I found incredulous, posting on my wall and messaging Sarah is astonishing. I appreciate your candor around these issues.
So, the big secret, I am a junky who has recently relapsed after several years of recovery. The combination of everything plus my best friend dying was enough to tip me back. I am currently fighting to get back to where I was (disclosing this information as the threat of it being made public is hanging over me like the sword of Damocles). I am truly ashamed of myself and my behavious .
You should receive your pictures and tee back shortly, as I said, as for the shoes, they are going to a local homeless shelter called St Petrocs, the homeless are dying in this weather and I sit looking at a pile of blue boxes, filled with snazy trainers and some folk would use the boxes for bedding. I will refund your postage also if you pm me your PayPal email.
I would hope that this is considered closed as I am sure people don't wanna read this bollocks.

RE: Things that make your blood boil - Tifoso - 13-02-14

At the risk of throwing gas on this fire, I will jump in here as I have also been affected by by Nick's poor luck of late.

First, Nick, I am very sorry that you seem to have fallen on some hard times. It seems that we all go through difficulties like this in life, whether it be financial or health-related or otherwise. The best advice that I can offer you is to simply keep your chin up and, "keep on keepin' on". If there's one thing that you learn in life it's that, as quickly as things can go wrong, they can just as quickly go right. I have no doubt that things will turn around for you.

Now for the "tough love" part. While you can't always predict financial hard times, you can certainly be prepared for them. You were buying kicks with great abandon for a pretty good stretch, there. Not just GR stuff, either - some limited edition joints and some spectacular looking customs. I have to believe that at some point you took a look at the checkbook and saw that there was more going out than is coming in. When that happens, your problems become our problems as our checkbooks are now less the money that you owe us yet you are still enjoying the thing that we sent you long ago. Do you see how that can be incredibly frustrating for us? In my case it was money going to a charity. In the case of Ani, it also has the quality of being something that he spent time designing and creating. I can only imagine how that can take the frustration to some next level shit.

I am sure that he regrets saying many of the things that he said to you. At the same time, this is a civil society and we all have to play by the same rules. One of those rules is that you have to live within your means and pay for all of the things that you NEED. If there is money left, you can then get the things that you WANT.

I want you to keep the money that you owe me. Please use it to take care of your family and to put some food on the table. I hope that things get better for you, soon.

RE: Things that make your blood boil - Ani-33 - 13-02-14

thanks for sharing that Tifoso. Sorry to hear how Nick has also affected you. Nick this is the last thing you will hear from me directed at you because you are right we should consider this closed. But really dude...give you my paypal email so that you can send the postage WOW like i really want to play that game again.

RE: Things that make your blood boil - Squeaky - 13-02-14

I feel bad you got burned Brad. If what Tif is saying is true (Nick buying A LOT of expensive trainers), than I'm not really convinced about the poverty and not being able to pay for postage.

But offcourse I can be wrong. If that's the case I hope Nick has learned from his mistakes and I wish him all the best.

RE: Things that make your blood boil - Old Gregg - 13-02-14

Wow I'm not really sure who should be more ashamed, I have to agree slightly with tif and squeaky, you only have to go back to mid November to see Nick brought some supes and was biding on ebay but to wish some one ODs over some shoes, seriously? I thought I had anger issues but fuck me that's low!

Nick I hope you get back on your feet soon and ani I hope someone learns to take your computer off you when you're mad like my husband does for me, I find it stops most cases of angry twatish behaviour!

RE: Things that make your blood boil - Ani-33 - 13-02-14

of course i didn't mean what i said there....after three days of zero response(and yes he was on and off a fair bit those days) i was grabbing at straws to get a reaction

RE: Things that make your blood boil - bigrob - 14-02-14

I'll give you the money to post the pic back Nick . I'm gutted for you that it has come to this . We can all overspend & not look to the future at times & I for one am not going to judge you for this . Sending love to you mate & keep your chin up , there's always light at the end of the tunnel !

I can't believe you said that to someone going through that . That's low man . I hope you never have lows of your own because karma's a bitch !
