I'll look into it, Errol. Good thinking. My deductible is probably more than the $300 to replace, though.

Good spot Errol - hes right Lor, our insurance process is the same...then again you're also right in the sense that your deductable is likely higher than the $300 to fix - I would say your deductable is in the ballpark of $500/800/1000...so maybe I left my 64G wifi iPad along with my Omega watch there too Wink

Meh. The way things are going at work still I'd be happy to never see another iPad again.

Speaking of insurance....

Last Friday I witnessed firsthand a serious accident - a dude in a telecomm van was at a standstill, then slumped forward and thus gunned the van down the block - crashed right into my next door neighbors garage AND MB SLK...thing was smoking and he was out - I ran to the side and checked him out, tried to talk to him, got him out of his seatbelt etc....10 sec's later he wakes up but twitching and chewing - had to make sure it wasnt his tongue he was noshing on....
to make a long story short, they had to extract both vehicles from eachother and the garage across my driveway, thus tearing up the driveway, grass etc....now they're giving me a hard time re replacing things to the way they were - what kind of a message does that send to me, the next time I see something like this? Guess I'll leave the driver to rot and leave my cars in my driveway and not move them to help out.....who am I kidding - I'd do it again in a heartbeat - just glad my kids werent walking their usual path - doing my best to not think of the what ifs.....I suspect it was a minor heart attack or he was a diabetic....

thats propa moody KT, but like ya say it could have been a whole lot worse, insurance headache aint so bad when ya think about what could have been

Yeah, the "what-ifs" will drive you nuts, Ken. As far as the other stuff... no good deed goes unpunished, as they say.

On the train on my way into work last week and we stopped just short of one of the stations and just sat there for a while. Eventually, they got on the PA and said that there was a "trespasser" on the tracks and that another train would be coming along for us to switch to to take us to our destination. Police and fire start showing up by the droves. Turns out a 47 year-old woman decided to end it all and death by train was the way she chose to do it. After we changed trains we had to backtrack to our origin so we could switch trains again. I made the mistake of looking out the window just as we were passing by the woman's body. It was covered with a yellow tarp but unfortunately it wasn't enough to cover the entire mess.

Life's crazy. Some people are living it to the fullest and then they're taken down before their time by cancer, or any number of other fucked up things. Then there are people that want nothing more than to just check out.

Exactly Puks, that was a sleepless night I'll say....where the van knocked down a tree then caromed off the curb, i was standing there but 3 minutes earlier...scary.

I hope so Mike, I hope so...I believe in karma, so hopefully mine is good lately! As for that poor lady, RIP....

That's messed up man. Happened a few times on my line.... I'm glad I don't catch the train, not something someone should see. Sad

Had the same experience one when i sat it the train, expect i had the luck i did not see the body.

Lots of respect for the community workers which have to deal with the aftermath and most of all for the traindriver who see it coming and is the first on the spot.

Just learned last night: the dude I tried to help who crashed into my neighbors house died at the hospital - was told he was awake and alert and asked what happened. When told, he then asked if he hurt anykids or anyone, then minutes later went unconcious and died....terrible thing life is sometimes...
