It's a reverse flip.
That's as loose as you can get a pair of 45" laces on these vins. They barely made it up to the last eyelet.
Lots of OCD around these here parts.

erm.. no not OCD.. they just look shit.
If the laces are too short, either don't put them in or don't lace them to the last hole

My orange laces came... flipped a shoe, not sure which one I like better - the original black or the oranges.

Go for the orange ones.
Also, when you lace your shoes do it so that the laces go through the eyelets from the outside of the shoe, not the inside. By doing so you will avoid that strange looking indent in your lacing
