Feeling like i unlocked one of the little mysteries of life when i discovered what the "little black cylander thing" (/technical term) that you sometimes find on the ends of cables, is for!
Gather round and i shall mesmorize you with my knowledge of utterly pointless things!

If you look on the end of computer cables, more often than not, theres a little black cylander towards one of the ends. This blocks electromagnetic interference and reduces the chance of the signal becoming distorted. Dont worry about it, its pointless but now you know!
