I have and the list goes on and on and changes on a daily basis, these ideas will also be for all the other people who ask us 'what can i get him?'. Un/ fortunately he isn't at that stage yet where he gets obsessive about one thing. I do know he wants a light saber tho!!
Earlier I bought the one from boots as there is a three for two offer, so his brother can have one and me too!!! May still get some of the cheaper ones for £10 that he can batter.
Keep the ideas coming..
Wow this getting a bit mumsnet!! Ha Ha.

My boy's got the Star Wars Obi-Wan electronic lightsaber, you can get them from tescos for twenty quid.
Makes all the same noises, also it extends so you can draw it with a flourish . . . and looks ace in the dark.
Very durable too, has survived daily battles with his sister for ages now.

Can't go wrong with Nerf guns. My boy is only 2 and I get almost as much of a kick from watching him terrorize his mom as he does!

The huffy thing is mental, saw some kid in the park almost kill himself flying down a hill then making a sharp turn, flipping the thing on his head!
Not sure about Nerf at 2, u must be crazy!!?? Got a transformer one coming from his Grandad for his birthday, still not sure about projectile toys but think I am getting a bit sober in my old age and so now thinking fuck it.
