Its mainly insulating materials and electrical drive mechanisms, trying to make the display last longer. What do you do?

Oh sweet, well im only in my 1st year, so im on a basic Electrical and Electronical Engineering course that covers the main elements but im hoping to go onto Power Engineering. Im actually helping this summer in some research on tesla coils.
