also, again call me a novice, which i trully am, and still feel embarissed even typing here and now!! but, why would they release the IB's (which i so love) with the 'white-ness' to them as opposed to making them look clean / mould free??

you mean 'rubberising' shelltoe? i'm sure they were plain color just like leather, it's just time who changed their shade..
