The Nokia Thread - olstar - 04-01-08

I used to change my phone more than i changed my pants no really

And over the years i had a fair few nokias as they just seemed to do what i wanted them to do..



Starting with this beast..

The Nokia 402 as it was known on orange.. it was the best phone of its time im sure, had snake on it which was REALLY addictive at the time. It also had a changeable front cover iirc - and was the first phone to have that too

Then i moved on to a 8210, which was basically the same as the 402 just much smaller



I loved that phone, it was tiny and it did things when you asked it to do them, hardly ever crashed

Then i went off the rails and had a few phones that i regretted, like that flip round weird motarola phone, and a sagem my x7 which wasnt that bad, the OS was just a bit strange..

Then i saw sense again, and got another nokia, and just at the time i was upgrading they introduced a camera to the new nokia's.. so i had one of them



Scratch what i said earlier, when i first got this phone it was the best phone i had ever had! You could capture all those "i wish i had a camera" moments as the camera could be activated and a photo could be taken in SECONDS

Anyway, then i upgraded to the latest phone from nokia.. at the time it was the 6600 and it looked VERY interesting!



It had something called a symbian operating system.. at the time i had no idea what that was - but once i had played with the phone and used the net to find info and applications and games for it, i was hooked!

So obviously my new phone after that had to have a symbian OS.. so i went for the 6680.. I think apart from the looks, and maybe the speed - the only major difference was a upgraded camera i think...



I then moved on to a phone i have had for nearly 2 years now..

The N73



I had the chance to upgrade a year ago, but sold the phone (it was a sony erricson summat) as i just love the N73

Its going in for its third joystick soon as thats the only flaw with it.. oh, that and the fact it looks like its been dragged through a field

So yeah anyway, im wanting to upgrade again soon..

But what the hell do i go for?

Id love a newer symbian phone, but it seems everyone has them and i hate having what everyone else has..

Anyone got any nokia news about up and coming phones i can keep my ears out for??

Phew.. that took ages to write!!

I'm in the same boat - I'm due the second phone on my contract soon and I think I might just get another N73. Unless something awesome comes out, but they seem really slow to release phones now - althought there are plenty on there website.

I've had a -
3210 - a classic
3330 - just like a 3210 - byt with WAP - wow
3410 - crap
6100 - tiny and reliable
7600 - the one shaped like an eye - it looked awesome but was hard to test with
6680 - my first symbian
N80 - great, except the battery
N73 - the best phone I've had

Has all the funky featured of the n95 with WIFI and shit.. 5mp camera.. but looks more like the n73

I've had loads of Nokia's in the past but changed to the Sony Ericsson K800i as it had the best camera on the market, just upgraded today to the K850i with a free PS3 come on!!!!

Never looked around this time, starting to think I should have as this N82 looks wicked, found a review for you Olstar, GSM Arena is a great website for mobiles as they show you ones from all round the world.

N95 is the only phone you'll ever need.. I'm using mine now to write this.. It's so damn easy to use!!

Had a play with my mates iphone.. Couldn't get on with it.

i've only ever had nokias until i got my blackberry last year. the nokias were wicked phones, the last had a flip open full keyboard which was great for texting, but it was starting to show its age and there are hardly any nokias on the market here so I had to move on...

my pearl is distinctly average.
