Help with my old Supes
#1

Hey all, about 5 years ago I bought some kind of Superstars. I have no idea what kind, but they were the best shoes I ever bought. They lasted 4 years of everyday wear and tear, even though I treated them poorly. I recently bought new Superstar 2's Black w/ white stripes and I gotta say the quality of my old pair were way better, but I can't find another like them.

They were White w/ Blue stripes that had Adidas logo reflected in the stripes and heal area. They also had proper eyelets instead of just holes punched in the leather.

I've included a pic of them, as they currently reside on my bedroom wall. If anyone can help me put a name to them I'd really appreciate it.

Cheers,
Jimmy Friday

PS The insole of my new Supes came out a few weeks after purchase
and I now use a really lame storebought insole that slides around frequently. This plus the eyelets is why I'm not too crazy about my new ones, but I still like them more than any other shoes I've tried.

Sorry the pics are blurry, I'm not very talented with my camera.

Well Jimmy, they're standard superstar 2's (metal's as some ot the ones with eyelets are called). Most of us on the forum aren't a fan of the old eyelets.. you can still pick them up I'm prettey sure.. Someone will come along with a link soon...

Is it just a style thing you don't like about the eyelets or something else?

There is that.. and also a lot of us don't tie our laces and so they slip through the eyelets to easily .

Yeah I was noticing this in most of the pictures. I asked in my intro thread, but I'll ask here too, do you simply tuck the ends into your shoes at the top or what? It looks a lot better anyway.

Yep, mostly just tuck them in... if the innersole is loose enough you can tuck them under there.

If they're long enough, I lace 'em to the top and then poke them back through the opposite hole backwards.
