Hey ppl!

Just wondering about Safety sizing? I'm about a US8.5 in a pair of Superstar II's - would I get away with a pair of size US9 Safety's?

What's the padding like? About the same or do they have extra etc ...?

I've been busting my ass trying to find some on the 'net but the only place I've found them is Zappos.com and the smaller they have are 9's.

The next step is getting someone to ship tenm over coz tey only deliver to the US.

Padding wise, Superstar Safetys are more like SS1 than SS2. There isn't nearly as much padding as you'd think a "safety" shoe would have. The tongue is made of foam and so the fit isn't anywhere as tight as you'd imagine from photos. I normally fit a 10 UK with standard SS but with the safeties I managed to go down half a size to 9.5 with only a little tightness lengthways, width was fine.

If your going up a half size it's normally no big deal. You might need to wear some thicker socks or something.

Bowls LA have some in in an 8 US and a 9 US and they ship overseas for a reasonable price - buying one pair avoids customs too usually. Unless of course you were looking for the other colour schemes (can't see why tbh, Black/green looks better on Nite-lites)

they fit about the same as a ss1 like reid said

that pair on the right is not safety, right? i had them, they were nice.

I've got a pair of Phoenix like olstar posted - they're like a very hard pair of ss1s (not very comfy). I've never tried the superstar safety though

Yeah, Phoenix does not have the same toe as a Safety. If I can find my camera lead I'll get comparison pics of mine up

I've bought from them before and although the trainers I got had a few imperfections, I was assured by the guys here they are 100% genuine. As far as the trainers go, they look alright to me. I think I remember Effel having a pair and they looked pretty cool

Remember those are UK sizes though - nothing worse than forgetting the site uses a different size scheme and having your new pride and joys not fit
