hi folks
i just finished my first custom project. i think it's better to call it saving of the superstars than making a custom one.

those were my beaters but i started feeling like they do not deserve to live in the trash can till the end so i started this saving project.

check out the work in progress images and i will let you posted with the 'product shots' later. the light was not good before i left to work - so the images were not nice

Look good fella.. what did you paint to toe with? Have the stood up to wear yet?

the toe is painted with acrylic ink and covered with matte finish.

they are still hot. so i was wearing them just in my flat. i put the same satin on the new insoles and they feel like slippers so cozy

Won't that crack on the rubber??

well i don't know...as i wrote they are my first. but i have used acrylic colors to print t-shirts. and the results were ok.
the shelltoe is rubber anyway and acrylics act similar to latex based inks. so let's see. i will give them a test, if you have a look at the input superstar - than you will see there is not much to loose.

Yeah way to go, I wish my first customs turned out that good! I threw out my first attempts coz they looked crap!

Those look really good. I looked at the larger pic, but I can't tell, are these painted, or have you actually stuck satin material to them?
If the materials stuck on, what kind of adhesive did you use?
I've stuck to painting my customs so far, but I have thought about using other materials in the past. Be interested to know your methods.
Anyway, good work, keep it up.

Those are pretty nice man, I'm really diggin them! We just need some larger pics to do the shoes justice.

ok so finally i was waking up late today to work and the sun showed out nice so i made couple of shots of my first babies - materials of the world on the cheap
hope you enjoy them as much as the manufacturing process.
the images are 640x480 because they are for czech sneaker collecting website, i hope you will find them enough

i will post images soon after wearing them. but i already know i have used worng glue so they are going to fall appart sooner or later.
